My Secret to Creating my OWN Products with Brand Owners

Sharing is caring!

Hopefully by now, you have moved your Amazon sourcing methods to wholesale and maybe even some white labeling and private labeling.

I have a secret that I don’t think alot of FBA sellers are doing when creating their relationships with wholesalers. I call it my “Hybrid WS/PL Tactic”.

Here’s what I do (and you can too!): I negotiate with my suppliers — not all of them will do this, but you’d be surprised to learn how many will gladly say “Yes!” — I negotiate with them to put my brand on their product (whitelabel), BUT modify it. Here are a few ways to do that:

  • I combine a couple of their complementary products together (bundle)
  • I ADD one of my own products that I source elsewhere like a dollar store website or Aliexpress.

I arrange with my supplier to receive the other bundle items from my other suppliers, and put their products, PLUS my products into a product box. Several of my suppliers will customize the box for me with a small printing charge, and affix the branded product labels.

You can also have them ship this new bundled product directly into Amazon for you!

I suggest printing your FNSKU directly onto the product label, and set your Amazon account to send all product to ONE Amazon warehouse.

That way, you can simply ask your supplier to pack up your new bundles, give you carton weights, and send them Amazon shipping labels after creating the shipping in your Amazon account.

Sounds impossible? IT’S NOT.

I do this exact thing with FOUR suppliers. Now I ask EVERY new wholesale account if they will “white label:” their products for me!

MY CHALLENGE TO YOU

I challenge you to look at brand owners from a little bit of a different perspective now. When you contact them to set up an account, don’t just run their CSV product list and move on. Look, really LOOK at what their products are, consider which of their products can be sold as a bundle, and what you can add to that bundle to add value for Amazon customers. Then contact the supplier and ask the deeper questions!
